# Get started (https://prood.com/docs/getting-started)

You can have a store online in about an hour, plus however long your domain's DNS takes. There's nothing to install.

## Open your store [#open-your-store]

1. [Create your account](https://prood.com/dashboard/register). You'll give your name, a store name, a store address, your email and a password. **Create account and store** does the rest.
2. Your store is live straight away. You choose your store's prood.app address when you sign up. If it's taken, we add a few characters to the end. You'll find it under **Domains**.
3. Go to **Products** and choose **Add product**. Set its status to **Active** so customers can see it.
4. Go to **Integrations** and connect your Stripe, Easypay or Ifthenpay account.
5. Share your address, or [add your own domain](/docs/apps/dashboard/domains).

The [merchant onboarding guide](/docs/guides/merchant-onboarding) covers each step in detail, including a test order.

## Build on the API [#build-on-the-api]

Developers can start with the [quick start](/docs/getting-started/quick-start): three steps to your first API call.

## Work on Prood itself [#work-on-prood-itself]

Contributing to the source repo? [Run it locally](/docs/run-locally) covers the install, the demo store and every environment variable.
